At our core, everyone of us longs to connect to something bigger than us.  We pursue meaning and purpose in many places.  But all this world has to offer is ultimately empty - something called a chasing after the wind.  But there is a grand story that calls to all of us because the Author of that story designed us and this world, and He has a place for each of us in that story.

The story we after in the deep places of our hearts begins in a wonderful place, but quickly spirals out of control ... the end is glorious.  We begin at the beginning this week, with a glimpse at the end.

    I WILL – Week 3
    Series: I WILL!

    message-header-web (Medium)

Our lives are a series of questions, and the answers we provide direct the course those lives will take. So often, we ask ourselves good questions. Should I really care about others? Should we eat that extra piece of cake? Should I fix the leaky faucet or watch another episode of my latest Netflix obsession? Should I really do the things that I hear about in church or read in the Bible? And while responding with “I should” or even “I can” are admirable, the only answer that really makes a difference is “I Will!”

What will I do?  What choice will I make?  What future - what ETERNITY - will I embrace? Every question that has any value to it is answered in the same way - and we celebrate that Answer today on Easter Sunday, when that Answer burst forth in victory from a grave that could not contain it, from darkness that was overcome by light, from the unimaginable burden of sin broken by life and goodness.  We champion that Answer together today.  We honor Jesus.

The 2000 year-old revolution called Christianity began all those years ago with a simple invitation from Jesus to 12 men: "Follow me."  Soon, there were hundreds and thousands of those who answered that call.  Today, that invitation is placed on US to make, to invite all those around us to join in on LIFE and on HOPE and on FORGIVENESS that is found in the God who made us, designed us, and desperately desires us to partner with Him in His glory, grace, and mercy.

We begin our new series for March discussing the significance of what it means to follow Jesus and how we need to move from a perspective of "things I should do" to an attitude of "I will follow Jesus" no matter what.

We all want it. We all pursue it. But we might not know what it really is. There is something deep within us that calls out that there must be more to living than just the hustle and bustle of life, more than just getting by or moving up. Today, we began looking at a short book in the Bible that provides so very much of the answer to this very BIG question and what it means for us to live The Good Life.

Our Series on living the Good Life concludes with a look at the last part of the letter the apostle Paul wrote to a young man he was mentoring, pushing his protégé to live a life that was pleasing to God and calling others to do the same.  In a world that often flips what is good and bad, this call to right living will lead followers of Jesus (and even those who aren't!) to see the blessings of staying in step with God's design.

The purpose and plan God has for his people - for the whole WORLD - starts and ends with this thing we call the GOSPEL.  It is, very simply, the Good News of Jesus.  However, it can be very easy to start with the gospel, and never really enter into the life it calls us toward.  The bible gives us a glimpse of what this gospel-life is really all about in our continuing series in the book of Titus.

God's plan for His people has always been discipleship, or the practice of all His kids helping each other become more devoted, all-in followers of Him.  Today, we look at one of the major ways that God exemplifies how He wants His people to pursue this:  the example of godly leaders. We also learn that the very things that "qualify" these leaders are the same qualities and expectations God has for all of His followers.

Pastor Brad walks us through the beginning of the book of Titus in the New Testament, showing us that we must understand the WHY of what we do to understand and choice the right WHAT's and HOW's.  Centered on the Person and work of Jesus, we learn that all of God's story interacting with humanity is based on setting straight what has gotten crooked, restoring the broken to fullness.

FOL-22 (because CORY wanted it this way)

"Status Quo" is the existing state of affairs. Are you content with that, or ... when God calls us to live by FAITH (the only way to please HIM) could there be something lacking? This January we invite you to take The FAITH of LEAP with us as we explore opportunities to learn from God about Risk, Adventure, & Courage.

Today, Pastor Brad concluded our series of the Faith of Leap, demonstrating that Risk + Courage = Adventure ... the idea that when we DO what God desires of us and RELY on Him to be true to Who He is, the result is the most amazing life we can live, one centered on the very design and purpose we were given by the Creator of the universe.
