Scandal Proof – Week 5
scandal-series-2015b (2)

With scandals all around us, in the news, in our communities and families, what does God have to say about how to avoid these disasters. His word is clear and is based on relationship – not rules. God’s relationship with us through the person of Jesus Christ transforms our lives and allows us to live a “scandal proof life”.

This week, we look at one of the "least popular" commandments that God has laid out in our world today: adultery.  Our world is saturated with sexual images, innuendos, and ideals, all telling us that the words of the Bible on this topic are antiquated and repressive.  Walk with us as Pastor Tim looks at the standard Jesus set for us and how it really is a freeing command and not an oppressive one.

The word “theology” most simply means “the study of God.” Christian theology is digging into God’s Word – the Bible – to discover what He has revealed about Himself. When we do this, we come to know Him as Creator of all things, Sustainer of all things, and Judge of all things. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end of all things.  This summer we will be exploring the basic, foundational beliefs of who we are as Grace Family Church.

Today we continue our journey by looking at the area of theology sometimes called Eschatology, or "Things I Believe About the End Times."  Without an over-emphasis (mania) or a fear (phobia) of this topic, we discuss some of the big ideas of what the Bible says about how the end of all things will take place, namely that God has determined the end, that Jesus will return one day, and that God is in control.

Today we continue our journey by looking at the area of theology sometimes called Ecclesiology, or "Things I Believe About the Church."  We discuss the basis of how God desires for His people to function as a called out gathering of Jesus followers.  The church is not a building, a denomination, or even a social club ... the church is the living, breathing Body that Jesus lived and died to save.

Today we continue our journey by looking at the area of theology sometimes called Angelology, or "Things I Believe About Angels, Demons, & Satan."  We discuss the (often) unseen spiritual world around us, with a focus on both not sensationalizing nor trivializing it.  Often misunderstood and sometimes abused, our discussion of the spiritual world points us back to Jesus Christ who established the victory over all things by His death, burial, and resurrection.

Today we continue our journey by looking at the area of theology sometimes called Christology, or "Things I Believe About Jesus."  We discuss who Jesus is, how He could be both fully God and fully human, and what His life, death, and resurrection accomplished for those who follow Him.  In the end, everything we believe as Christians hinges on who it is we believe Jesus Christ really is.
