Louder Than Words – Week 6 (James 4.1-17)
The letter of James (in the New Testament) shows one of the church's early pastors going about his work of confronting, diagnosing, and dealing with areas of misbelief & misbehavior that had turned up in congregations committed to his care. DEEP & LIVING WISDOM is the topic. Now WISDOM is not primarily knowing the truth, although it certainly includes that. It is also the skill of living out that truth. What good is TRUTH if we don't know how to live it out? And what good is INTENTION if we can't sustain it? Join Grace Family for this series of conversations... seeking God's WISDOM so our lives will become Louder Than Words.

We live in a broken world ... there is fighting and pain lingering in the corners all around or even shouting right in front of us.  God's people should form a community where this brokenness is resolved, but too often it creeps its way into what should be a haven and a sanctuary.  As we continue our Louder Than Words series this morning, we discuss the problem and the solution to this tragic circumstance.

Let’s Talk About That! (Week 5 – Technology & Faith)
Life is filled with questions. Some of those questions are hard to answer. Some of them are even hard to ask. Sometimes, there are questions that we think we’re not allowed to ask in a church. At Grace Family Church, we believe that church should be a safe place to discus any topic, from the bedroom to the bank account, so we’re chatting about some of these “touchy” subjects all month long in September. Invite your friends to be part of the dialogue!

Technology is a powerful force in our world today ... how are those who seek to follow after Jesus supposed to respond to it?  Are we to fear it or embrace it?  Is it the harbinger of great evil or the destined means of fixing the ills of this world?  Or - maybe - it's something else entirely.  Join the conversation today!

For Our Neighbors – Week 5 (Four Eternal Truths)

If you've been to church at some point in your life, you've probably heard the term "gospel" at some point ... but what is this gospel? This summer, we'll be looking at the story of good news of that God illustrates throughout all of Scripture. We'll discover our own place in the gospel story and how to communicate it in powerful ways. We'll also look at how the Gospel has actually given us a new identity in Christ and how to live out the truth of this gospel identity in the normal rhythms of everyday life.

Last week we discuss four eternal truths, which - if we truly believe - can give us real victory over sin and move us to deeper joy and soul-satisfaction than we can imagine.

Red Letter Day – Week 4
After suffering more than the collective suffering of all humanity - past, present, & future - Jesus utter the words "It is finished" from the cross.  Within these simple words is packed the fullness of the good news that Jesus came to preach ... namely, that the full price of our sins has been paid and made available to all those who will accept it.

A red letter day is one that is marked by significance, by something that will be remembered and that will leave a lasting mark on the world around us. 2000 years ago, there was a red letter day like no other, when the fundamentals of this world were turned on their head. On that day, the One who changed everything cried out several powerful truths, and we can learn more than we can imagine from looking into them.

Too Good To Be True – S1E4 (Col 2.6-2.15)
Eternity is a reality that doesn't start at some distant time in the future, but one that began with the inception of creation and for each of us when we were born ... we're already in eternity.  And that eternity - my eternity - pivots directly on how I believe about one central idea: who is Jesus?

Frankie Valli once famously penned these iconic words: “You’re too good to be true - I can't take my eyes off you ... at long last love has arrived, and I thank God I'm alive.” These words capture that distinct wonder of encountering something SO good that it seems unbelievable, and yet which draws us inexplicably toward it. As we dig into Season One of our Too Good To Be True series, we will discover a reality that is bigger and better than anything we could have hoped to imagine, and is more true than anything else we could ever discover.

Light of the World – Week 6
If we look around us, this world can seem pretty dark. The answer is to find light in the darkness ... Jesus is the light that overcomes the dark, and that’s what makes Christmas the most wonderful time of the year. It’s not  because of what’s happening but because of what happened, not because of who is with us but because of who is for us.

This morning, we look ahead to the final result of what it means to walk in the Light that came to this world 2000 years ago - and it is this simple truth:  once I've encountered Jesus in a real and authentic way, cannot stay the same as I was before.

This morning, we discuss that walking in the light of Jesus produces a faithfulness in us that is truly epic, but that it requires us to engage in life in a particular way.
