HOW DO I MEET PEOPLE?

Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five year- old child, a ninety-five year-old grandmother, an on-the-go busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here are some ways that you can learn, serve, and grow with our church.

CLICK on any heading below for more information.

LifeGroups
Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has smaller, biblically-based communities that meet in member homes. The size of the group is anywhere from six to sixteen people. At a time designated by your group leader you can participate in the small group community.

Each week we gather together in smaller groupings that are practical, relevant, and relational.  These times together are constantly changing, allowing us to get to know one another as a church family.  Every six weeks, our Thrive Time Groups switch up – topics, participants, and teachers.  There are Thrive Time options for every age-group, empowering exciting and easy discussion for the entire church family! When do Thrive Time Groups Meet? We “thrive together” every Sunday morning as the second half of our regular weekly worship time, typically starting at 11.20am.

One of the central components to our weekly Sunday Gathering as a church family is our message time – an opportunity to hear from one of our Pastors or other guests as they open the Bible and share God’s truth with us in a relevant and accessible way. CLICK HERE for our present message series or CLICK HERE for our Podcast Archive.

CHURCH CALENDAR
Everyone has a busy schedule … and it just keeps getting busier! With that in mind, we work hard not to clutter schedules further but rather to promote those events and activities that best reflect our vision & core values. CLICK HERE to access our online calendar and see some of what is happening in our church family right now.  Can’t find something on the calendar that you’re looking for?  SEND AN EMAIL and let us know what you’re trying to find!

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The children’s ministry of our church is central to our DNA as a family:  we love kids because Jesus loves kids! We also have periodic events and activities outside of Sunday morning to gather our youngest ones together to build relationships and engage in community life outside the constraints of our regular weekly gathering time.

GRACE STUDENT MINISTRY
The teen years can be among the most challenging … for youth and parents alike!  We dedicate time Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and various other times & locations.  We have a team of youth leaders that are passionately committed to Jesus and teens … and, of course, FUN!

YOUNG ADULTS (FUSION)
Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of our church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people.

SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP TEAM

WALLY FLEMING
 Overseer
Wally and Bev have been part of Grace Family church for many years.  First living in Leola, once they moved to East Petersburg, Grace Family Church was too much “home” to go anywhere else.  If the church building is unlocked, you’ll probably find one or both of them there!  While officially retired, Wally works part time with the Manheim Auto Auction, and Bev operates a bookstand at Root’s Market.

STU MARTIN  Overseer
Stu and Joanne are a long-standing part of Grace Family church.  Their family is actively involved in all aspects of our church life, with two children in the youth group and one in college.  Stu serves as one of our LifeGroup leaders, and Joanne is often found helping with our Kids’ ministries.  Stu and Joanne run a Bed & Breakfast in Terre Hill, and Stu is an accounts manager with Comcast Communications.

MINISTRY LEADERS

DAN KREIDER  Worship Director
Dan and Carly have been an integral part of life at GFC for many years.  Carly is a lifelong GFCer, and Dan has been part of our family since before they got married in 2011.  Dan works in digital / print marketing, web services, and media for Paul B Zimmermans, while Carly rocks it out full time as mom to three little ones and part time as an incredible baker.  Dan and Carly have two wonderful daughters and an amazing son.

ANDREW KRUG  Pastoral Intern
Andrew began interning at Grace Family in the Fall of 2016, and he has served our church family and local community faithfully since then.

messages 1
One of our central values is that God’s absolutes are absolutely good.  And this means that God is knowable … that He has revealed Himself to us in tangible ways, primarily in the person of Jesus Christ, specially in the recorded Scriptures we call the Bible, and evidenced throughout His creation.

When we gather together on Sundays, a major component is teaching from the Bible. We often utilize series or topics to present God’s truth, but the very words of the Bible are our truth and foundation.

For Our Neighbors – Week 8 (Good News for All of Life)

If you've been to church at some point in your life, you've probably heard the term "gospel" at some point ... but what is this gospel? This summer, we'll be looking at the story of good news of that God illustrates throughout all of Scripture. We'll discover our own place in the gospel story and how to communicate it in powerful ways. We'll also look at how the Gospel has actually given us a new identity in Christ and how to live out the truth of this gospel identity in the normal rhythms of everyday life.

The good news that we've been talking about for two months as a church family is bigger than just a ticket to heaven - it's for all of life and has (or should have!) incredible impact on everything we do.  We conclude our message series today as Pastor Tim challenges us all to be For Our Neighbors in all of life.

This summer, we'll be looking at the story of good news of that God illustrates throughout all of Scripture. We'll also look at how the Gospel has actually given us a new identity in Christ and how to live out the truth of this gospel identity in the normal rhythms of everyday life.

Last week we took a look at what has been called the grand meta-narrative of the Bible ... the big, over-arching story of what has happened in this world, what God has done & is doing, and how we can respond to it. This week, we discover that the most important part of THE story for each of us is MY story and how it fits in to what God has revealed to us.
